The Mississippi Civil Rights Project offers a basic, skeletal history of the struggle for freedom in each of Mississippi's 82 counties. Some counties had more activity than others. As the project develops, this site will enable teachers and students to expand these histories, based on local research. We hope this project will offer a useful starting point for exploring those local histories.
