Steven’s Kitchen

From the late 1950s through the 1960s, the upscale restaurant at this location was the meeting place for local professionals and for many of those who came from out of town to help with the civil rights movement. Among the notable individuals who met at Stevens Kitchen were Sen. Robert Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rep. Andrew Young, and Vernon Jordan.
